Different Pasts, Shared Future  

Refugee Week is a UK wide programme of events which celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK.  In 2011 it takes place from 20-26 June.  This year's theme is '60 years of contribution' - it's 60 years since the signing of the UN Refugee Convention and the setting up of the Refugee Council.

Refugee Week Radio is an online community media project endorsed by Refugee Week which aims to publicise and celebrate the events and activities of Refugee Week, give a platform to refugee individuals and organisations, bring together media contributions from around the country and discuss some of the issues involved.

Related activities and campaigns take place all year round.:

Platforma Arts + Refugees Network
This new network aims to bring together groups and artists of any background or political status (e.g. refugees and non-refugees), whose work examines the varied experiences of refugees both before and after they arrived and settled in their host country. Platforma is developed in partnership between Refugee Week UK and Oval House Theatre, and is supported by The Baring Foundation and Arts Council England. The network is free to join.
